It so happened
that the development of all kinds of technologies, including semiconductor,
medical, chemical and lighting, always requires perfect innovation and new
equipment. And far from the last role here can play the production of quality
quartz glass. Nowadays, this is a very promising area, which will develop more
and more over time.
Thus the use of
quartz glass in the chemical industry in the future will help to save many
severely deficient metals, such as, for example, aluminum, lead, and special
bronzes. And this is so even if not to speak of ferrous metals and alloys,
which are cheaper and, accordingly, more common (here we can attribute
different types of acid-resistant cast iron, etc.). That is, in fact, the use
of quartz glass in various chemical aggregates and equipment as the main
material will save the consumption of nonferrous and ferrous metals. But after
all, according to the latest scientific data, the earth’s crust consists of
quartz for more than 60%.

At the same
time, there are also more opportunities for both inventive and research
activities. If we systematically improve the methods of processing the
material, this will allow us to obtain more and more high-quality products from
quartz glass and, as a result, expand the scope of their application, minimizing
the number of products made of nonferrous metals.
We give one
simple but very illustrative example. If instead of lead in the production of
sulfuric acid by the chamber method, lining with quartz glass is used, this
will provide an excellent opportunity to preserve and more rationally use this
highly deficient metal. Thus
lead consumption can be reduced.
